Milton Keynes, UK – Impact Production Services (IPS) has added the new Prolyte H40R Truss to its extensive rental inventory and took it out on its first job, an awards event, produced by AV Network. The truss combines the compact dimensions of Prolyte H30V Truss, with the loading capacity of the larger H40V truss.

AARHUS, Denmark – The all-female musical ensemble Celtic Woman’s current tour sees the Irish musicians playing beneath a rig that includes Martin Professional’s new MAC Aura LED wash light. Tom Kenny, longtime LD for Celtic, worked with lighting supplier Upstaging for the first time on this production.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – LD Mauritz Jacobs from Johannesburg-based Dream Sets lit the Miss South Africa 2011 pageant using 50 Robe moving lights at the core of his lighting rig. The event was held at Sun City’s Superbowl venue. A day earlier, Jacobs lit the Miss Teen 2011 pageant on the same stage.

AARHUS, Denmark – Martin Professional product developer Simon Allan has created an updated library of Vectorworks lighting instrument symbols and has made them freely available for users to download from the Martin Professional website. The symbols are available for Vectorworks Spotlight 2008-2012.

LONDON – LD Mark Kenyon specified nearly 90 CHAUVET fixtures for the set design on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing. Scattered throughout the set are six Q-Wash 560Z LED moving heads in custom-finished chrome, with 50 COLORdash Batten Tri linear wash lights and 32 COLORado 1 Tour static wash lights.

DOHA, Qatar – More than 100 fixtures from PR Lighting were deployed recently at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park Inauguration in Doha. Alexandre Lebrun designed and directed the lighting. Technical production company TechnoPro provided the Litec Alusfera Dome Structure while PR Lighting provided the lighting equipment.
