Rigger Killed in Laura Pausini Concert Staging Collapse

REGGIO CALABRIA, Italy — Matteo Armelini, 32, a rigger who was working with other crew members in preparation for Laura Pausini’s concert March 5 at the PalaCalafiore here, died at the scene when staging elements fell on him from above at about 2 a.m. Two others helping secure the lighting rig for the central portion of the three-stage set received minor injuries.

Martin Strikes a Chord Lighting Aarhus Church Organ

AARHUS, Denmark – Denmark’s Aarhus Symphony Orchestra used Martin Professional lighting to highlight its show stopper, a large concert organ, in the Symphonic Hall of the Concert Hall in Aarhus. More than 100 meters of Martin LED strips mounted on the back of the wooden slats light the organ pipes (from a distance of 15cm). Mounted vertically at the bottom of the slats and lighting the lower conical part of the pipes are Martin Tripix 1200 and Tripix 300 LED linear luminaires.

GHENT, Belgium – Robe’s ROBIN moving lights have been installed into the two main performance spaces at the De Bijloke Muziekcentrum (Music Centre) in Ghent, Belgium.
