Messe Frankfurt Organizes Light India 2012

FRANKFURT, Germany – Trade fair organizer Messe Frankfurt is partnering with the Electric Lamps & Components Manufacturers’ Association of India (ELCOMA) for the 2012 edition of Light India. The first trade show will be held Oct. 5-8 at Pragati Madian in New Delhi, India. A wide range of lighting manufacturers are encourage to participate, with the audience including private and government buyers.

A Walk in the Park for PR Lighting

DOHA, Qatar – More than 100 fixtures from PR Lighting were deployed recently at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park Inauguration in Doha. Alexandre Lebrun designed and directed the lighting. Technical production company TechnoPro provided the Litec Alusfera Dome Structure while PR Lighting provided the lighting equipment.

Visual Elements Invests in Chroma-Q Color Block DB4

ASHFORD, UK – UK rental company Visual Elements has upgraded 100 Chroma-Q Color Block DB4 LED Fixtures in its inventory to the new Color Block Plus Replacement Engine. The new engine offers more than two and a half times the light output  – 750 lumens – of the original Color Block DB4 (290 lumens) with the internal switch set to full power. The newest installation of the Color Block Plus DB4 LED fixtures is at the Roundhouse.

SERIATE, Italy – Singapore’s AVALON boasts the largest club installation of Clay Paky Sharpy moving beam lights. The new celebrity playground features 24 Clay Paky Sharpy, 18 Alpha Spot HPE 700, 4 Alpha Spot 300, and 4 Alpha Beam 300 luminaires, run by a grandMA ultra-light console (with 26 units of MA 2Port Nodes) to handle the multiple DMX universes used in the overall lighting scheme. There are plans to install more Clay Paky fixtures in the second phase of the lighting design for the future.

AUSTIN, TX – High End Systems’ new trackspot Bolt LED luminaires modernized the eletronic music club “Modernes” in Bremen, Germany. For nearly 20 years, the club has used six original High End Systems trackspot fixtures. Replacing them out with the trackspot Bolt – a full-featured, 3000 lumen moving-mirror fixture powered by an LED lighting engine – reduces their power consumption while offering them the long-lasting lighting they wanted in a lighting rig.

Robe Takes a Holiday On Ice

Belgium-based LD Luc Peumans specified 62 Robe ROBIN 600 LEDWash fixtures for the current Holiday on Ice ‘Speed’ tour. One of the creative starting points for the lighting design was making sure that the lighting fused and flowed harmoniously with the industrial toned space age set – designed by award winning stage/set designer Bart Clements. Belgium-based rental company Phlippo Showlights MC is supplying the lighting equipment.

AARHUS, Denmark – Kazakhstan marked its 20th year of independence on Dec. 1 with a celebration at the Republic Palace concert hall in Almaty. The renovated venue features a new design with the latest in Martin Professional lighting technology. LD for the anniversary show was François Guillet of Lumières Utiles in France, with gear provided by the APM Group, Martin Professional’s distributor in Kazakhstan.
