OOSTENDE, Belgium – At the start of this year, Pixled became the official distributor for LED display manufacturer Radiant’s Linx range of products in key European countries. Pixled and Radiant have been involved in an on-going ‘co-development’ agreement for the past two years. Pixled has now renamed its four current L-Series products to all have the suffix ‘by Radiant.’

VELASSKE MEZIRICI, Czech Republic – LD Paolo Firulli’s design for “Meraviglioso Modugno,” a tribute show to one of Italy’s best known performers, made use of Robe ?ROBIN MMX Spots, LEDWash 300s and ColorWash 575 AT Zooms. The show took place at the new Teatro Petruzzelli theatre in Bari. Rental company International Sound – owned by the Firulli brothers – supplied the gear.

AUSTIN, TX – High End Systems’ Technospot automated luminaire takes the stage for Hungary’s version of X Factor, the popular TV singing competition. Accompanying the 24 Technospots are SHOWGUN 2.5s, intellaspots, Studio Commands and a Wholehog 3 console with DP8000. Budapest’s Perfect Design Factory designed the lighting and supplied the gear for the show’s current two seasons.

AARHUS, Denmark – London-based Imagination, which produces brand marketing, wanted its headquarters to reflect its creativity. In addition to their classic blue lighting scheme, they wanted the ability to customize the facade for festive occasions. Twelve Martin Exterior 410s provide a wash of color across the façade, while four Exterior 420s offer uniform white light.

EDINBURGH, U.K. — Electrosonic upgraded some of the key audio/visual components in the Scottish Government’s Media Centre at St. Andrew’s House in Edinburgh. The Centre has the facility to run presentations, record proceedings and relay images to an adjacent room.

AARHUS, Denmark – Martin Professional Hong Kong held three M1 lighting console seminars in Beijing and Guangzhou recently. Trainees ranged from lighting designers for performance troupes to technicians from television stations.

EDINBURGH, Scotland – The Scottish Government’s Media Centre at St. Andrew’s House in Edinburgh needed an upgrade after 12 years. Electrosonic supplied key audio/visual components in the facility to meet the needs of the media in press briefings, presentations and other related activities.

LONDON – Panto veteran Nick Richings was designing his first Robinson Crusoe production since 1981, so he had plenty of ideas to bring to the table for this year’s 38-show run. It was requested he make the lighting look like a rock show and fill the large space both onstage and in the auditorium. Ian Westbrook designed the set. HSL supplied and installed the full mother grid, the flying system and lighting.

AARHUS, Denmark – LD Palle Palme is the first to use Martin Professional’s MAC Aura in Thaland. Palme chose 18 Auras to make his own magic in the rig for Swedish magician Joe Labero. The magic show entertains five nights per week, two shows per night, requiring a stable lighting rig, Palme says. Orange Events in Kuala Lumpur supplied the gear.

MIDDLETON, WI – With seven stages but few on the lighting staff, Helsinki Music Centre turned to three ETC Unison Paradigms to integrate its lighting control. They wanted non-technical persons – such as orchestra members, stage managers and even music students – to be able to use the show lighting in the halls for rehearsals and concerts.

HEIDELBERG, Germany – Designer Gunther Hecker put Germany’s hip hop band back on the map with his latest set, lighting and visual design for Die Fantastischen Vier, aka Fanta 4. The band just finished their sold-out arena tour with their in-the-round and over the top production.

ORLANDO – A new blacklight dolphin show entertains visitors two to five times per day at the Dolfinarium in The Netherlands. Alcorn McBride products play a central role in the new show, where a V4 Pro, Video Binloop and LightCue system are used for show control and AV sourcing.
