GUANGZHOU, China – Milos modeled a technical training and safety awareness workshop at its facility here on workshops that Milos runs regularly in Europe. The Guangzhou workshop was attended by representatives from major companies in Thailand, Indonesia, India, Singapore, Macau, Hong Kong and elsewhere in China.

GUANGZHOU, China – Not many architectural lighting designs call for moving light fixtures, but lighting company Guangzhou Zhilliang specified 63 Coemar moving light fixtures used for the Hengda Hotel. The mixture of Infinity S ACLs and Infinity Spot XLs animate the exterior and the statues outside the hotel with CMY color mixing, aerial effects, breakups, rotating prisms and gobos.

EDINBURGH, Scotland – More than 100 Edinburgh Fringe Festival venues used Zero 88 for lighting control and dimming, with gear provided by Zero 88 dealers including Black Light, Northern Light, Stage Electrics, Hawthorn, HSL and Stage Lighting Services.

LONDON – Kinesys recently provided 160 of its new DigiHoist motor controllers to Production Resource Group (PRG). The new units will replace all PRG's existing motor control stock in the U.K., effectively standardizing the control platform across PRG's rigging department, which works with more than 2,000 motors.

PARIS – French news channel i>TELE, a subdivision of Canal+ Group, has installed 24 cold white Aledin LED profiles from Robert Juliat. They are used daily for the network's live news broadcasts and weather reports.

SAINT-DENIS, France – Olivier Payen, lighting designer for veteran French rockers Indochine, faced a challenge when lighting the band's tour stop at the Stade de France in this Parisian suburb earlier this year.

JOHANNESBURG – Gearhouse South Africa supplied design and technical production – including rigging, lighting, visuals, AV, set and audio – to the 2010 Annual Bidvest Chairman's Awards, a high-profile corporate events, staged at Sandton Convention Center (SCC).

WOLFSBURG, Germany – The Autostadt, adjacent to the Volkswagen factory here, turned up the visual heat with Caribbean-inspired visuals and colors for its Caribbean Summer theme that ran in July and August. Tarm Showlaser provided laser effects, aquajets, and pyro every evening at 10 p.m.

SINGAPORE – Peter Bretherton, technical manager of staging for the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, said the Ron StageMaster 6000 (RSM) wireless load monitoring system has eliminated a lot of guesswork since it was installed at the performing arts complex in April 2008.
