KRISTIANSAND, Norway — Stage Concept supplied Robe DigitalSpots and moving lights for the Club Salamander stage for the five-day Quart Festival. The venue was a temporary structure built partially over water in the middle of a forested area on the festival’s island site.

LONDON — XL Video UK once again supported Oasis with full video production for their current Dig Out Your Soul world tour and also provided a fully HD PPU/camera package for the band’s summer stadium and outdoor special shows.

LONDON — LD Peter Barnes and Production North production manager Iain Whitehead chose Bandit Lites as the lighting supplier for the 2009 Boyzone tour, using VL 3000 Spots, VL 3500 Washes, Pixel Pars, Super Cycs, Stadium Hazers, Lycian 1290 followspots and Hog 2 consoles.

BARCELONA, Spain — Kinesys designed and supplied the custom motion control system that moves and shapes the “transforming” video screen for U2’s 360° world tour. The system consists of 40 Kinesys Evo zero-speed chain hoists and eight custom built winches, all controlled by Kinesys K2 3D software.

LONDON — SNP Productions, headed by Simon Pugsley, a lighting and digital media programmer/operator, has been named the U.K. distributor for Catalyst digital media products.  SNP Productions now offers sales, rentals, training and technical support for the Catalyst. 

LIVERPOOL, U.K. — Lighting designer Jon Pollak had no hesitation in recommending that Adlib Lighting supplied the equipment and crew for the U.K. leg of Steely Dan’s current European tour.

BARCELONA, Spain  — Willie Williams, show designer and director for U2’s 360° Tour, had the goal that “when the fans come into the stadium they see something the like of which they have never seen before.” Williams worked with architect Mark Fisher and production director Jake Berry to flesh out that vision, relying also on PRG’s Bad Boy fixtures to handle the gaping distance from the truss to the stage.

ZLIN, Czech Republic — Powerdance specified and installed a Robe moving light rig for the recently-opened Morava club in this university town, which was a “no brainer” according to Šiška Zdenek, who worked closely with the club’s lighting operator, Miroslav Werunsky on this project.

LONDON — White Light is supplying the rig for the Whoopi Goldberg/Stage Entertainments production of the musical Sister Act at the London Palladium, which is being directed by Peter Schneider, designed by Klara Zieglerova and lit by LD Natasha Katz.
