RALEIGH, NC – Available Light, a lighting design firm with offices in Boston and New York, announced that it is opening an office in Raleigh, NC to be led by senior associate Derek Barnwell, who is returning to his southern roots after serving Available Light for nine years in New England. The Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area is home to more than 200 AIA Architects, the company notes.

CYPRESS, CA — USHIO America named James Suit Eastern Regional Sales Manager for its Entertainment Business Unit.  Suit has more than nine years of technical and applications expertise in the entertainment market. He also brings extensive knowledge in the application and sales of lighting fixtures, sources, and solutions in the entertainment, architectural and video markets.

WUPPERTAL, Germany — Riedel Communications, provider of pioneering real-time video, audio, data, and communications networks, has named Robert Pennington to serve as its U.S. sales manager, broadcast, for the East Coast. In this new role, Pennington will assist customers in selecting and implementing Riedel’s broad product portfolio of networked communications and signal transport solutions.

ORLANDO, FL — SGM announced the opening last month of SGM Inc. The company also noted that Spanish lighting designer Ben Díaz has been named SGM’s new Area Manager for South America, and he will also be handling product training.
