DUBAI, UAE – Creative Technology’s Middle East operation has recently recruited Ed Jarman in the position of Senior Project Manager at their Dubai Investment Park offices. Jarman will be heading up day-to-day project management and project development. Working alongside Mark Woodhouse, General Manager of CT’s Dubai operation, Jarman will also be supporting existing and building new relationships with clients throughout the Middle East.

CYPRESS, CA – Christie promoted Jennifer Smith to executive vice president of Christie’s new Global Market Solutions group. Succeeding Smith as vice president, Global Engineering for Christie, is Mike Esch, promoted from senior director of engineering. Ihor Stech was promoted to executive vice president, Operations.

CAMBRIDGE, UK  – BlackBox Recorder manufacturer JoeCo recently moved to new offices at its Cambridge headquarters. The new building incorporates office and meeting space, production and workshop facilities, as well as a dedicated development and testing area for the expanding BlackBox product range. The move coincides with the forthcoming release of the company’s latest product – the new BlackBox BBR1MP Recorder with integrated mic preamps – and the expansion of the company’s team.

MIDDLETON, WI and BROOKINGS, SD — ETC and Daktronics have announced that ETC has acquired the Vortek rigging division of Daktronics. All Vortek rigging products will be integrated into ETC’s rigging portfolio, and operations will be consolidated with ETC’s primary manufacturing locations in Wisconsin by the year’s end, the companies noted.

LUTON, U.K. – Steve Shortt, a 30-year industry veteran, has joined Hall Stage, based here, as head of design. Shortt has worked with Hall Stage products on projects led by the staging company’s U.S. partners, including Thern Stage Equipment, Hall Stage North America, Epic Production Technologies, Gridworks and others. The company says his appointment is part of its plan for growth in new product development and projects and installations.

CYPRESS, CA – Christie noted several recent promotions among its senior managers. Dale Miller was named executive vice president, global sales; Zoran Veselic was promoted to vice president, global systems accounts; Simon Smith was named vice president, sales, for Europe, Middle East and Africa; and Lin Yu was promoted to vice president, sales, for the Asia Pacific region.
