LONDON – Pharos Architectural Controls has restructured its management team with Simon Hicks promoted to Technical Director and Chris Hunt taking the role of Managing Director. The other directors are founders Richard Mead and Nick Archdale, both of who remain actively involved in the company.

SANFORD, FL — InterAmerica Stage announced that Bob Blucher, who had worked with the company from 2001 through 2003, has returned as project manager.

LAS VEGAS — Blue Planet Lighting named Bill McGarvin service department manager at the company’s new Las Vegas facility. Prior to Blue Planet Lighting, McGarvin served as a moving lighting technician and electrician at the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas.

TORONTO – Mike Gillis has joined A.C.T Lighting Canada as its new salesperson. Gillis began in the industry as a teenager, moving up to owning medium-sized lighting rigs, and in the late 80s/early 90s, he opened Phase Lighting followed by Profile Technoloiges. He most recently worked at TMB.

BOIRARGUES, France – Spanish tower lift manufacturer VMB and France-based ESL have signed a deal for the exclusive distribution of all VMB products in France. ESL will now also be the official service center for all VMB lifts.

VENTURA, CA – Don “Donnie” Halchak has joined Ventura, CA-based Total Structures as East Coast Sales Executive. He will be based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA, but will be on the road much of the time visiting customers. Halchak comes from Mountain Productions where he spent the majority of his 13-year career involved with entertainment rigging, going from hoist tech to sales rep.

KENILWORTH, UK – Live video/AV production and rental specialist Central Presentations Ltd. (CPL) has appointed Lee Gruszeckyj to boost its busy Project Management team.  “Lee G,” as he is nicknamed, has extensive industry experience dealing with video and IMAG systems – both engineering and directing – and also projection. He has previously worked with CPL early in his career.
