CASTEL GOFFREDO, Italy – Coemar S.p.A. announced a new majority shareholder: Salvatore Grillo, 37, who was also named Sole Administrator of the company. Mezzanine Management UK Ltd (now MML Capital Partners), the private equity fund that acquired Coemar 10 years ago, remains as a minority shareholder. Grillo promised a new era for the company as it returns to Italian ownership. “Coemar really wants to be young at the age of 80!” Grillo said.

KNOXVILLE, TN – PixelRange Inc. has appointed David Naone as National Sales Manager. Naone comes to PixelRange with 25 years of sales and production experience. His credits include touring with bands such as The Rolling Stones, Meat Loaf and Iron Maiden, along with company stints with Creative Stage Lighting and Robe.

DALLAS – Lighting industry professional Charlie Hulme has rejoined Philips Vari-Lite as Central US sales manager. The move is part of Philips’ realignment of the North American sales team. Hulme’s first stint at Vari-Lite was in 2003 as Western Region Sales Manager. In 2007 he moved to Lightolier Controls as National Sales Manager. In 2009 he took on the position as Quotations Manager at Strand Lighting, until his current move back to Vari-Lite – all of which have been under the same Philips corporate umbrella.

BRIGHTON, UK — Visual Acuity named Damian Andrews Lead Consultant, Project Development. Andrews’ experience includes work as stage manager for the Carl Rosa Opera Company, technical manager and senior production manager aboard the Queen Mary 2, work as an event technician and convention-centre operations manager in New Zealand, work on planetarium installations for Sky-Skan, Inc., and for a Melbourne, Australia-based events services company, Staging Connections. He has also served as technical director and chief lighting technician at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. He will now be based at Visual Acuity’s Brighton, U.K. headquarters.

FREDRIKSTAD, Norway — Projectiondesign opened an office in Moscow and named Stein Ramsli regional director, Russia and CIS.  Ramsli previously served as managing director at Cisco/Tandberg Russia and PLC.

LAS VEGAS — PLSN announced that award-winning industry journalist Debi Moen, who joined the magazine as a columnist in March, has been named associate editor. Along with her column, “Designer Watch,” which shines the spotlight on people and projects, Moen will contribute regularly to both plsn.com and the printed pages of the magazine.

NEW YORK — Industry veteran Cynthia Carraway has joined 4Wall Entertainment’s UsedLighting.com staff and will assume the position of director of Latin American sales. Carraway spent the last few years with cable manufacturer Lex Products, first as the Southeast Territory sales manager, then as inside sales manager and sales manager for business development in Latin America.  Prior to Lex Products, she also spent time with PRG in Orlando, FL.
