FREDRIKSTAD, Norway  — Projectiondesign named Jens Heymans to the position of Country Manager, Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH). He will be leading the company’s efforts to set up an office in Germany, which will also serve customers in Austria and Switzerland.

AARHUS, Denmark — Martin Professional Scandinavia named Mikkel Toksvaerd project sales manager Nordic, overseeing project activities throughout Scandinavia for Martin’s EMEA sales organization. Toksvaerd, 47, will cover the entire Scandinavian region with particular focus on the Swedish and Norwegian markets. Over the past 10 years, he has owned his own business, marketing the French/US show control company Medialon in Scandinavia, activities he will continue to manage.

LAS VEGAS — PLSN magazine has named Jeff MacKay, a journalist with 14 years experience covering the lighting, audio and music industry, associate editor. He will contribute regularly to both the printed pages of PLSN magazine and to the online postings at plsn.com.

GARDEN GROVE, CA — Richard Stratford has been named president of Penn-Elcom Inc. in the U.S.  He will head up the U.K.-based company’s North American operations, which include operations in Garden Grove, CA (HQ); New Jersey; Houston, TX; and Windsor, ON, Canada.

LONDON — Martin Professional’s EMEA sales organization announced that David Martin has been hired as key account manager serving the UK market. He previously worked for Martin as club sales manager at Martin UK in the early 2000s.

BRISTOL, U.K. — GDS named Chris Patton, a 12-year industry veteran, head of U.S. operations. With a background in stage electrics, Patton has held positions including export sales manager, divisional sales manager and business development manager, working within the West End theatre and touring rental markets. In his new position, Patton has been appointed to develop the GDS brand across North and South America. He will work with GDS distributor A.C.T Lighting, based at first in the U.K., then relocating to GDS’ New York office in August 2012.

PITTSBURGH, PA — NEP Inc. announced that Danny O’Bryen will return to the company as president of its Screenworks division. O’Bryen, who left the company in January to start a new business, has over 30 years experience in the industry. O’Bryen, an original founder of Screenworks, will lead the staff, manage day-to-day operations, and oversee every Screenworks project.
