UK – GDS announces that Nick Read has joined the company as Head of its newly created special projects division – ‘GDS Specials'. Nick has over 22 years experience in the entertainments industry and brings with him wide range of skills, working recently as the head of hire and events for Northern Light and previously running his own successful hire company. With an electrical engineering background he also boasts experience as a project manager, overseeing the €1m technical-build of Wexford opera house. He has worked around the UK and Europe as a freelance engineer and lighting designer, toured with and brought numerous shows into the West End and worked as a production electrician for major theatre companies, on many of the largest show in London.

UK – Philips Entertainment Lighting has promoted Amber Tomlin to the position of key account manager for the UK, effective immediately. For the past five years Tomlin has been the company's demonstration and training manager for Philips Strand Lighting's range of Palette consoles.

AUSTIN, TX – High End Systems, a Barco company, announces the hiring of Chris Ferrante as an International Sales Manager. LAS VEGAS – Morpheus Lights has named Keith Bennett national sales consultant. Bennett will sell Morpheus products and arc lamp modules and ballasts for Strand Selecon Pacific fixtures. He will also be responsible for redeveloping the Morpheus dealer network and will serve as a point of contact for Morpheus' ColorFader3 product upgrade program.

BURBANK, CA – Electrosonic has promoted Chris Conte to vice president of entertainment, a position from which he will manage the company's Entertainment business worldwide, including the museum, theme park, visitor center and retail markets. Conte was formerly general manager of systems integration for North America and Asia.
