All Access Expands to Atlanta

Atlanta got its moniker of “Hollywood of the South” for good reason. Since 1973 when then-governor Jimmy Carter noticed the state’s potential and created the Georgia Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment office, the area’s role in film and TV has grown exponentially. Even during the height of the pandemic, Georgia was home to 242 film productions adding an estimated $2.2 billion to the state’s economy. All Access has provided world-class stage systems and equipment to film and TV clients in Atlanta for years. Now, they’re expanding with an office in the heart of this entertainment center. Justin Townsend to Lead NYU’s Department of Design for Stage & Film

NYU Tisch School of the Arts’ Dean Allyson Green announced that Justin Townsend will be leading the Department of Design for Stage and Film as Chair starting in August 2022 and will join the faculty immediately. Townsend is a Tony Award-winning educator and international designer who has designed more than 250 shows throughout his 25-year career. Townsend will continue the legacy of renowned costume designer Susan Hilferty, who has guided the program for more than 20 years to the outstanding reputation that it holds today. The Shubert Organization Acquires the GalaPro App

The Shubert Organization announces that it has acquired the GalaPro App, the software that allows for real-time translations and captioning in theaters. After incubating GalaPro in 2016, The Shubert Organization implemented an organization wide rollout of the software in all of its theaters. David “Gig” Butzler Honored for 30 Years with Bandit Lites

David “Gig” Butzler was recently honored at Bandit Lites’ Annual General Meeting in Nashville for 30 years with the company. Over the course of Butzler’s career trajectory, he has expanded from working as a pipe fitter in St. Louis and doing lighting as a side hustle, to serving as the lighting designer for the best-selling solo artist of all time, Garth Brooks.

Main Light, South to Open in Nashville this Spring

Main Light, based in Wilmington, DE and Las Vegas, NV, will open a third shop in the Nashville, TN area in April. The new 70,000 sq. ft. Main Light, South operation in Antioch, TN will be overseen by Randy Mullican.
