Parnelli Ballot Finalized, Voting Begins!

LAS VEGAS – The Parnelli Ballot for the 17th annual awards ceremony has been finalized, and voting has begun! The ballot, which includes the six North American finalists for the Parnelli Award for Hometown Hero Lighting Company of the Year (chosen during a separate round of voting in September) is posted online at parnelliawards.com, and it’s up to YOU, the PLSN reader, to decide who among the nominees will step up to the awards podium at the Anaheim Hilton in Anaheim, CA on the evening of Jan. 26, 2018.

LISBON – Lighting production company FX Road Lights, based in Portugal, have announced their first purchase of CORE Lighting ColourPoint Mini uplighters, the newly released product by the British manufacturer, as part of their investment into corporate markets. The Lisbon-based company have invested in 48 units to go immediately into production and dry-hire stock. The ColourPoint Mini debuted this year, complementing CORE Lighting’s product range as a smaller and cost-effective version of the ColourPoint, a best-selling uplighter in the United Kingdom.

Liberty University Acquires Claypaky Scenius Spots and Scenius Unicos for Vines Center

LOS ANGELES – The Event Production Department at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia has increased its lighting inventory with the addition of Claypaky Scenius Spots and Scenius Unicos.  They will be used in the Vines Center, the university’s basketball and volleyball arena, which is also used for concerts, special events and their Convocation service three times a week. The purchase is the first stage in a “five-year upgrade of our lighting and audio equipment,” says Amy Justice, Lighting Director and Tier 2 Production Technician in the department.
