UK – West London UK based lighting and visuals rental specialist Colour Sound Experiment supplied a bespoke built touring lighting ‘specials’ package to alt rockers The Kooks for their recent “The Best of … so Far” tour. This UK leg of the tour closed with a high profile gig at London’s Alexandra Palace for which additional lighting production was added, together with IMAG video.
UK – CPL (Central Presentations Ltd) enjoyed another glorious Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, supplying projection to Arcadia’s giant recycled metal spider, which hosted their phenomenal “Metamorphosis” show. The west Midlands based rental specialist also supplied a lighting and rigging package which was utilized across the lively Shangri-La late night area.
NYC – It’s always exciting to be involved in a new event and the positive buzz, energy and hashtags spread as infectiously as the groove of the very first HRBR Project shows, a new music venue presented by RPM on Governor’s Island in New York Harbor. Kevin Mignone, owner of KM Productions, the company charged with producing the multi-week event, was determined to deliver the biggest and boldest show possible for the new outdoor space and brought on long-time collaborator, Mike Gionfriddo of Total Production Design (TPD), as the lighting designer to create a design with maximum impact.

A recent revival of the musical at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, New Hampshire captures the magic of that long ago moment, thanks in part to a transformative lightshow designed by Carl Rajotte, who also served as artistic director and choreographer.

LOUISVILLE, KY – The Forecastle Music Festival returned to Louisville’s Waterfront Park for three days of music spread across 85 acres. Bandit Lites supplied the lighting for the festival’s four stages, where more than 60,000 attendees enjoyed musical performances from Run the Jewels, Cage the Elephant, Odesza, Sturgill Simpson, PJ Harvey, Spoon, Weezer, LCD Soundsystem and nearly 50 other acts.

LOS ANGELES – Live Nation announced that Linkin Park’s North American tour in support of the band’s 2017 album release, One More Light, has been canceled. Frontman Chester Bennington, 41, was found dead July 20, one week before the North American tour was due to launch at the Xfinity Center near Boston, MA. The North American tour leg was to start in Boston July 27 and wrap up in Los Angeles on Oct. 22.
