A Look Ahead to the 2018 Parnelli, “IT” and Hometown Hero Awards Nomination and Voting Time Frames

ANAHEIM, CA – As you may have heard, the next Parnelli Awards will be taking place in Anaheim, CA, coinciding with Winter NAMM 2018. Along with the geographic shift, of course, the time frame for the awards has changed from autumn (Oct./Nov.) to winter (Jan. 26). Bandit Lights Inaugural Innovation In Music Awards

NASHVILLE  – For the first Innovation in Music Awards, held June 6 at the Westin in Nashville, LD Bob Peterson turned to Bandit Lites for a rig that would work well with the venue’s low ceiling and keep attention focused on the honorees. He used HES’ framing SoloSpot 2000s for key light and RobeCYC FX8 for scenic light and beam effects.

Tempe’s Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration in Phoenix Area Includes Chauvet Professional Fixtures

TEMPE, AZ  – LD John Garberson used Chauvet Professional fixtures to light the musicians performing  in triple digit temperatures prior to the annual fireworks display as part of Tempe’s Town Lake Festival. The fixtures provided bright LED output without unleashing too much additional heat on the performers braving the extreme outdoor temperatures.

LD Yaron Abulafia Lights ‘St Matthew’s Passion 2727’ with Robe Fixtures

WUPPERTAL, Germany – The German-Israeli co-production St Matthew’s Passion 2727 is a dance oratorio choreographed by Tamir Ginz for the Kamea Dance Company, inspired by the St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244) by Johann Sebastian Bach. The show is produced by Bayer Arts & Culture and a co-operation between two opera houses in Leverkusen and Wuppertal in Germany and Beer-Sheva Performing Arts center in Israel. Lighting designer Yaron Abulafia was asked to add his magic and imagination to the intense performance.

Eric Church’s ‘Holdin’ My Own’ Tour Rig Includes Martin Fixtures

LOS ANGELES – LD Butch Allen included Martin Axiom Hybrid fixtures in his lighting design for Eric Church’s “Holdin’ My Own” tour. Allen’s goal for the 65-date tour was to create a lighting rig that could translate the up-close-and-personal vibe of a small club performance to a massive arena setting. Allen and Christie Lites came up with a truss structure capable of flying Axiom Hybrid fixtures almost 80 feet in the air – well out of the audiences’ line of sight.
