Kinesys Stages Demo Day in Canada

TORONTO – Automation specialist Kinesys is staging its first product awareness demonstration in Canada – on July 8th for one day only – to make people aware that Kinesys products have ‘officially landed’ in Canada and are available for immediate rental from Drifter Rigging. The Demo Day is a collaboration between David Bond, who runs Kinesys’ US operation and Mark “Drifter” Desloges from Drifter Rigging, a new rental operation recently established in Toronto, with a selection of Kinesys kit. It will be held in a warehouse facility at 100 Carson St. Unit A Etobicoke, Toronto, M8W 3R9.

Morris Highlights Hall & Oates 2017 Tour with Mozarts and IMS

LOS ANGELES – Daryl Hall and John Oates kicked off their 2017 summer tour last month at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The whirlwind tour across America’s heartland includes 30 dates through July.  The lighting design team of Matt Geasey and Jesper Luth specified 140 Solaris Mozart fixtures, as well as 600 IMS Mk2 RGBW lamps on 12 110-foot festoon strings, all provided to the tour by Morris of Nashville.

Encapsulated within this giant model of the Planet is a smaller sphere, and as visitors arrive at the spectacular high-tech exhibition on climate change during the six weeks it will be stationed in Aarhus, they will be immersed in a surreal world of twinkling stars, generated by G-LEC Solaris LED balls.

It’s been at least a decade since the band last went on the road in North America and their entrance certainly didn’t disappoint. Avolites Tiger Touch II Chosen for Griffin Centre Theatre in U.K.

RENDCOMB, U.K. – Theatre lighting designer Andy Webb has specified an Avolites Tiger Touch II as the house-desk at The Griffin Centre, a new £3.3 million state-of the-art performance venue at the Cotswold educational establishment, Rendcomb College. Webb has been involved in the build as technical consultant since 2013, having worked alongside the college for over a decade, supporting the theatrical department and teaching A-Level lighting design.

Claypaky Brings Theatrical Lighting to ‘Encore Dunhuang’

DUNHUANG, China – A range of Claypaky moving head fixtures created the responsive theatrical lighting for immersive Chinese theatre production ‘Encore Dunhuang’, a ‘walk-in’ theatre show that debuted at the first Silk Road Dunhuang International Cultural Expo. The event’s theatrical lighting design was created by lighting designer Mr Wang Yugang, who specified the Claypaky Scenius Profile, Claypaky Alpha Profile 1200s and Claypaky Sharpy Was he 330s to meet the demands and the scale of the production. Mr Wang Yugang singled out the Scenius Profile specifically for its superior color rendering.
