NEW YORK, NY—Lighting designer Herrick Goldman, principal of HG Lighting Design, recently announced that he will be donating a portion of his design fees throughout the year to the Behind the Scenes charity. He is the first designer to make an ongoing pledge of a portion of design fee profits to the charity. Designers have previously pledged a day’s royalties as well as generously made individual donations but Goldman is the first designer to pledge a portion of profits in an ongoing manner and becomes the charity’s first Pledge-a-Service Partner.

TORONTO – A mistrial was declared in the legal case against Live Nation and others stemming from the June 16, 2012 staging accident that killed drum tech Scott Johnson, 33, before a Radiohead show at Downsview Park in Toronto. A new trial was ordered after the judge presiding over the case, Justice Shaun Nakatsuru, was appointed to the Ontario Superior Court. Since that reassignment, earlier this year, Nakatsuru has stated that he no longer had jurisdiction over the case.

TALLADEGA, AL – LifeWay Christian Resources provides over 360 different weeks of student ministry camps each year from Florida to California. In preparation for those camps, LifeWay brought together the camp leaders for a weekend of empowerment and training. For the 2017 X. WKND, production designer Jake Brantley and lighting director Chris Kulow were asked to create an engaging worship environment to heighten the passion behind the ministry, and they did so using a complete lighting, LED video and audio system from live event provider Elite Multimedia.

NEW YORK – WorldStage is providing lighting support for two comedy series, MTV’s Wild ’N Out and Comedy Central’s The President Show (pictured here) to longtime client and LD Christopher Landy. He has worked on four seasons of Wild ’N Out, which aired on MTV from 2005-2007 then returned in 2013.
