LANCING, U.K. – The Wild Life Festival, staged June 9-10 at Shoreham Airport (AKA Brighton City Airport) on the U.K.’s south coast, was one of more than 50 events that lighting and video rental specialist Colour Sound Experiment will be supporting this year. Wild Life, organized by SJM and curated by dance artists Rudimental and Disclosure, is now in its third year.

SKANDERBORG, Denmark – For Danish singer songwriter Rasmus Walter’s 2017 tour, which includes Smukfest 2017 in Skanderborg, Denmark in early August, LD Martin Holst designed a floor-based and cost-effective lighting / set package that includes 24 Robe picklePATT fixtures and six BMFL Blades.

ROME – British EDM act Clean Bandit are touring the U.K. and Europe this summer with a lighting design that includes 18 Solaris Flare Q+ fixtures. LD/programmer Liam Griffiths is using diffusers to hide the LED sources for a smoother look for the cameras.

LONDON – Charlotte Lockyer, head of controls for rentals at Tait, was named Technician of the Year at the ABTT Theatre Show, which took place June 6-7 at Alexandra Palace in north London.

RIMINI, Italy – An example of “calm before the storm” can be found on the Rimini beach in Italy, where Litec is constructing their Libera series Alusfera II roof for upcoming concerts to be held during the Summer Beach Arena event. Running from June 24-30, the Summer Beach Arena concert series features live and DJ sets by national and international artists from sunset until late in the evening.

ROUGE, Estonia – To illuminate the 30-meter-high Pesapuu (Nest Tree) Watchtower in Rõuge, Estonia, the company that built the structure designed by Tallinn based architect Karmo Tõra, Roadservice, specified Robe fixtures, including 12 LEDForce 18 LED PARs and six Anolis ArcSource Outdoor 4MCs. Tallinn-based E&T, Robe’s Estonian distributor, handled the order.
