Grammy Awards Performances Lit with GLP Fixtures

LOS ANGELES — For this year’s Grammy Awards, held Feb. 12 at Staples Center, Full Flood Inc. provided a lighting design that incorporated X4 atoms and X4 Bar 20 fixtures from GLP. PRG provided the fixtures, which were used for performances by Bruno Mars and Beyoncé (pictured here), among others. Full Flood also specified 20 impression X1 fixtures for A Tribe Called Quest.

The LRLR Raise Funds for Behind the Scenes at USITT

ST. LOUIS, MO – The Long Reach Long Riders (LRLR) celebrated their upcoming ride through Southern California with a raffle and live auction to benefit Behind the Scenes during the USITT Conference in St. Louis, which was held March 8-11, 207. Sales of raffle tickets, some key donations, and sales of BTS and LRLR-branded swag raised over $15,000 for the charity. The LRLR 2017 ride, dubbed the Avocado Adventure, starts on June 16 in Escondido, CA.

LOUISVILLE, KY — QA: Video Solutions Inc. recently upgraded the AV control systems, displays, playback devices and servers in the Muhammad Ali Center, which offers three levels of exhibits and galleries dedicated to the life and legacy of the boxing legend, who died last June at age 74.  Mike Little, president of QA: Video Solutions, used equipment from Alcorn McBride for the upgrade.

New Mexico High School Performing Arts Center Moves to LED System with Chauvet Professional

LAS CRUCES, NM – Joe Price, the manager of Oñate High School’s Performing Arts Center in Las Cruces, NM, worked with Will Sadler from Hubbard’s Music-N-More on a switchover from conventional lighting fixtures to LED fixtures from Chauvet Professional. The new system includes 20 Ovation E-190WW LED ellipsoidals, 20 COLORado 2 Quad Zooms, 12 COLORdash Par-Hex 12 par-style fixtures, 12 Ovation C-640FC Cyc lights and four Rogue R2 Spot fixtures.

City of Durham Takes First Step Toward HD Production with Broadcast Pix

CHELMSFORD, MASS. – Broadcast Pix™ today announced the City of Durham, N.C., has upgraded to a Granite™ 1000 integrated production switcher for coverage of its bi-monthly city council and monthly planning commission meetings. Vivian Cruz-O’Doherty, government television manager in the city’s Office of Public Affairs, said the new switcher is Durham’s first step toward upgrading its meeting coverage to HD production.
