ORLANDO, FL – Flight paths are commonplace over airports, but passengers using Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport experience “Flight Paths” of a very different kind.  The installation called “Flight Paths” is the latest public art work to link concourses at the country’s busiest airport.  Created by artist Steve Waldeck, it simulates a walk through a forest with immersive lighting, video, projection and sound effects.

Public Comment Period Open for Five ESTA Draft Standards

NYC – Five Technical Standards Program draft standards are newly posted for public comment. These documents are all up for reaffirmation by their respective working groups, meaning they have been published for as long as five years and the consensus body is considering republishing them with no substantive changes. Comments on the draft standards will be accepted through the end of the day on 3 April 2017. Chevelle Wraps West Coast Tour with Bandit Lites

BOULDER, CO – American rock band Chevelle wrapped a series of shows in the western U.S. in January that took them from the Fillmore in San Francisco on Jan. 13 to the Boulder Theater in Boulder, CO on Jan. 30. Lighting designer Craig Richter built this tour’s lighting design around the new scenic set elements created by Robb Jibson of So Midwest Inc., using a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites. With a new album to promote, The North Corridor, the band had been looking to make a new visual statement with the shows.

Opeth Sorceress tours with Ayrton DreamPanel™-Twin

EUROPE – Kicking off with twenty dates in America at the start their Sorceress world tour, Swedish band Opeth brought their show to Europe in November, opting for a single show at Wembley Arena for their UK audience.  Magnus Boyd has been lighting the band for the last eighteen months: “During the tour, we have done two special extended sets at Radio City and Belasco in LA, featuring songs from the Deliverance and Damnation albums before performing a third at Wembley Arena,” he says.

LONDON – Palace are a much anticipated four piece indie blues rock band from London about which there’s lots of anticipation and excitement and an acclaimed debut EP, “Lost in the Night”. Lighting designer Steve Bewley – well known for this work with Enter Shikari, London Grammar, Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah and a string of other interesting alt artists –- was asked to light a recent showcase gig at the Electric in Brixton, London, for which he chose to use an all-Robe floor package which was supplied by Dragonfly Lighting.
