USITT 2017 Offering College Credits and Networking Tips This Year

ST LOUIS, MO – USITT considers architecture an important discipline in the world of performing arts and live entertainment, design, and technology. USITT 2017 is offering 13 architecture sessions, all approved for up to 20 AIA credit hours. Five of those sessions also provide health, safety, and welfare credits. The conference will run March 8-11 at America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis.

Samsung to Acquire Harman in $8 Billion Deal

SEOUL, Korea and STAMFORD, CT — Samsung Electronics and will acquire Harman International Industries for $112 per share in cash, or total equity value of approximately $8 billion. The deal, announced Nov. 14, changes ownership for Harman-owned brands including Martin Professional lighting products and pro audio brands including AKG, BSS, Crown, dbx, JBL, Soundcraft and Studer.

Production Staged on Belgian Castle’s Moat Lit with Robe Moving Lights

WESTERLO, Belgium  For Albert 1, a new musical produced by Simon de Merode and staged around and on a series of pontoons floating on the moat of the Westerlo Castle in Belgium, LD Michel Jacobs lit the 150 by 100 meter performance space with Robe moving lights including 20 Robe BMFL Blades as the main fixtures. The sold-out show was seen by 1,850 people a night over two weeks.
