Maestra Dubai Supplies Technical Production for WWE Dune Bash

DUBAI – Maestra was asked on-board by sports producers ProActiv to provide all the rigging, sound, video, lighting, staging and draping needed for the popular two day event, project managed for Maestra Group by managing partner of Maestra Dubai, Tom Clements. The brief included coordinating the extensive soft-goods required around the site and setting up a workable backstage space using creative draping to give dressing and green rooms and technical areas. Maestra also supplied the local crew and specialized event security.

ETCP’s Power Distribution Technician Certification Program Expands

NEW YORK – The Entertainment Technician Certification Program’s (ETCP) Portable Power Distribution Technician (PPDT) examination will be offered at more than 190 testing centers in North America beginning July 15 for computer-based testing.  There is no application deadline and once a candidate is approved he/she can usually test within a couple of weeks, depending on candidate volume. Because this is a new examination, score reports will be delayed during this time.

Thurber also coordinated, managed, and designed scenic and lighting for eight years of tours including Cabaret, Annie Get your Gun, Chorus Line, The Wizard of Oz and Beauty and the Beast.

San Francisco War Memorial Veterans Building Gets Theatre Planning/Design Assist

SAN FRANCISCO — For San Francisco’s War Memorial Veterans Building, which was re-opened last September, Auerbach Pollock Friedlander provided theatre planning and consulting for the 900-seat Herbst Theatre and support spaces. Auerbach Glasow French, meanwhile, provided architectural lighting design for all public spaces including the performance venues, all lobbies, circulation corridors, historic stairs, San Francisco Arts Commission exhibit space, offices and the exterior.
