With its headquarters in Verona, WI, Intellasound Productions has been supplying audio, lighting, staging, backline and touring support for a wide variety of live events, and they have now added FLEXCurve 6mm LED video technology from PixelFLEX to their rental inventory to strengthen their client support nationwide. Active Production and Design Honored with Three Allie Awards in Atlanta Ceremony

ATLANTA – Active Production and Design, Inc. was awarded three Allie Awards on March 6: Best Audio Visual Design, Best Event Innovation and Best Use of Media and Technology. The event took place at the Georgia Aquarium. The Allie Awards were founded in 1991 to honor those in the catering and special event industries in the Atlanta area. They were conceived by Tim Lundy, CSEP, who was on the boards of the Atlanta regional chapters of National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) and the International Special Events Society (ISES).

Barco Acquires Medialon

KORTRIJK, Belgium — Barco NV has acquired all shares of Medialon Inc., according to a joint letter to Medialon customers from both George Stromeyer at Barco and Alex Carru at Medialon. The announcement follows several other big M&A deals among companies in the AV technology sector recently, including H.I.G. Capital’s acquisition of AVI-SPL, Diversified Systems’ acquisitions of Technical Innovation and The Systems Group and Mitel’s acquistion of Polycom.

2016 Bhangra Showdown, U.K. Dance Competition, Lit with Robe Fixtures

BIRMINGHAM, UK – The 2016 Bhangra Showdown (TBS) event produced by Kudos AV and the Imperial College Punjabi Society is a major Bhangra dance competition. This year the event moved to Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena. The event featured an impressive lighting design created by Tom Grant and Nathan Wan, which used 80 Robe moving lights at its core – 16x BMFL Wash XFs, 18x MMX Spots, 24x LEDWash 600s and 12xPointes.
