Big Ears Festival Returns with Bandit Lites

KNOXVILLE, TN – In what has been hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as “the most adventurously programmed music festival in America,” The Big Ears Music Festival returned for its fifth year. Created and produced by AC Entertainment, Bandit Lites provided the lighting package for one of Knoxville’s newest event spaces, The Standard. Bandit lighting programmer Wayne Lotoza used Vari-Lite, Source Four and Martin Atomic strobes with a  Road Hog console for control for most of the acts, and for an installation piece entitled Drones, he also used GRNLite Washes, ETC Source Four  LED units, Robe Color Blocks and a mirror ball.

Ultra Music Festival 2016 Featured 500+ Elation Fixtures

MIAMI — Described as “three-days of fast beats, loud drops, beautiful people, and so many lights” by Billboard, many of those luminaires used on Ultra Music Festival again bore the Elation Professional logo with well over 500 Elation products in action on several stages at Miami’s biggest EDM party of the year. Christie enhanced its 1DLP lineup of projection gear with the addition of four new GS Series laser phosphor projectors, including two HD models with BoldColor Technology. The projectors promise true-to-life images in a compact package for discreet installations in venues such as corporate meeting rooms, trade shows, entertainment venues and rental staging. More advanced than previous GS models, the four professional-grade models use a grid-based warping and blending processor and also have an option for camera-based warping, blending or stacking to make setups faster and simpler. Bruce Springsteen Cancels April 10 Show Over North Carolina’s HB2 “Bathroom” Law

GREENSBORO, NC — Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band have canceled the show set for Greensboro, NC April 10 in protest of HB2, a.k.a. “the bathroom law,” which prevents municipal and county governments from passing antidiscrimination measures that could serve the interests of those who are gay or transgender. Springsteen posted an explanation outlining the reasons for the cancellation on Facebook.

Pennsylvania Ballet Tilts at “Don Quixote” with Clay Paky Gear

PHILADELPHIA – LD Michael Korsch selected Clay Paky Alpha Spot QWO 800 and Alpha Profile 800 ST moving lights as part of the rig for the world premiere of Don Quixote at the Pennsylvania Ballet. The production featured a large, two-story set from San Diego Opera. The production was staged from March 3-13 at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. Main Light Industries supplied the Clay Paky fixtures for Korsch’s lighting design.
