CARDIFF, Wales, U.K. – LED lighting company Sedna once again teamed up with Cardiff University to support the school’s engineering students as they worked on an LED-lit CR12 series race car outfitted with Sedna’s flexible LED strips. The project, which also involved students from Cardiff Metropolitan University, focused on the LED-lit vehicle’s ability to light up in the dark for a night race around a test track at Llandow last December.

JOHANNESBURG – Working on behalf of Blue Platinum Events, Solid Rock Event Technical provided lighting, sound and large format video for a massive son et lumière at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg for a corporate event hosted by Daimler Truck & Buses, a division of Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA). Key sales teams, dealers and clients of the company gathered in two locations for the event, themed as “the greatest show on earth.”  Within the 95,000 capacity stadium, the gear list included 24 Robe BMFL Spot moving lights.

PLYMOUTH, U.K. – British singer and X Factor winner Leona Lewis toured the U.K. in February and March with lighting designed by Jamie Thompson and controlled by Avolites Sapphire Touch and Tiger Touch II consoles. Thompson’s brief for the tour, which visited 13 cities across England, Wales and Scotland, was to create an intimate show pushing the focus on to Leona and her band as they performed new material and her internationally bestselling back catalog.

FRANKFURT, Germany – AV Stumpfl will be bring their live event, production and rental and staging innovations from their native Ausria to Prolight+Sound 2016. Featured products will include an 8K by 4K version of Wings Engine Raw, which will be demoed right on the AV Stumpfl stand. AV Stumpfl will also use their prolight+sound trade show presence to launch the brand new Wings Vioso 3D mapping module with a reinvented workflow for video projection mapping and design.

ABU DHABI, UAE – The Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), turned to live communication specialist People as the event management agency for the elaborate 2016 Qasr Al Hosn festival, which ran from Feb. 3-13.. Manchester UK based dbn Lighting design an overall scheme to light all the different areas of the site. Lead lighting designer Stephen Page and a team of seven designers and on-site LDs from dbn worked closely with Tom Ralston and Jonathan Godsmark from Eclipse Staging Services Dubai who provided all the lighting, AV, power and rigging equipment for the multi-day event.

FRANKFURT, Germany – Elation Professional will be featurig new technologies and products at Stand E85 in Hall 4 Prolight + Sound 2016  including the company’s new ZCL, DTW and Fuze series of products. Also featured will be the company’s Platinum SEVEN, a new 7-color LED wash luminaire along with a cyclorama wash luminaire; the TVL CYC RGBW, a floodlight for TV, film, theatre and broadcast applications; and the company’s X-Series of hybrid fixtures including the Platinum FLX and mid-sized Platinum HFX moving heads (HFX pictured here).
