Trans-Siberian Orchestra Treks Hit East, West Coast Venues with 100+ Robe Fixtures Each

LOS ANGELES – For Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s (TSO) latest ‘Letters from the Labyrinth’ tour, which included two TSO troupes simultaneously playing East Coast and West Coast venues, production and lighting designer Bryan Hartley once again strived to up the visual ante with video, lasers and pyro and a lighting rig that included more than 100 Robe moving lights on each rig. Each of the TSO treks included 60 Pointes and 44 LEDBeam 100s.

Super Bowl 50’s CBS Sets, Halftime Show Brightened with Elation Gear

SANTA CLARA, CA — Elation Professional lighting products were used at several locations across Levi’s Stadium for Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7, including CBS’ three main broadcast sets. Elation’s ELAR Q1 color-changing PAR lights were also mounted in the stage deck for the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show. Illuminate Production Services (IPS) of Sacramento provided the Elation products for CBS’ Plaza, Field and Tailgate Super Bowl 50 on-site broadcast settings. The event proved to be the third-most-watched television program in U.S. television history, with a reported 111.9 million TV viewers, on average, for the duration of the event.

NASHVILLE – Bandit Lites is providing gear for three-time ACM nominee Thomas Rhett as he joins Jason Aldean’s “We Were Here” 2016 tour. Collaborating with both Thomas Rhett and tour manager Logan Kornegay, lighting designer Nick Whitehouse built upon their general concept to create the final lighting design. What may look like a standard rolling floor package reveals itself to be compact custom video and lighting lifts that extend to a full height of nearly 30 feet above the stage. Lightweight Ayrton MagicDot-R and Clay Paky Mythos both play a key role.

‘If/Then’ Tours with PixelFLEX FLEXCurtain Instead of Mirrors

NEW YORK – When the Broadway production, If/Then, began its successful run on Broadway in March 2014, a key staging focal point was the large mirror element tilting above the stage. To provide an equally distinctive focal point that would meet the touring production’s logistical needs, projection designers Peter Nigrini and Dan Scully were asked to reimagine the original production with a new projection and LED video component. Working with event technology provider WorldStage, Nigrini and Scully identified and implemented a unique LED video design comprised of 22 FLEXCurtain HD LED screens from PixelFLEX.

Tennessee Governor Event Lit with Bandit-Supplied Chauvet Professional Fixtures

KNOXVILLE, TN – The Knoxville Chamber Partnership recently held the Annual Governor’s Breakfast at the Knoxville Convention Center, where Governor Bill Haslam addressed a record breaking crowd of 660. Bandit Lites, a member of the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, provided the lighting for the event as the Governor covered his legislative priorities for this session, which included increased funds for education and infrastructure improvement projects.

For Broadway’s ‘On Your Feet,’ Ken Posner Opts for Chauvet DJ LEDs

NEW YORK – For the Broadway production, On Your Feet, which features the music of Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, LD Ken Posner relied heavily on Chauvet DJ’s Intimidator Beam LED 350 moving fixtures, including 59 of the fixtures in the rig. The fixtures helped Posner tackle a major challenge in creating the lighting design – replicating the concert world on a Broadway stage, which doesn’t have nearly the space of a touring venue.
