In Memoriam: Jimmy Page Henderson, 69

DALLAS – Jimmy Page Henderson, 69, died Jan. 5. Known for playing a key role in the live events industry, he joined founder Jack Calmes at Showco in 1972 as their first and only salesman after being involved with concert promotions and nightclub management. Jimmy again teamed with Calmes to help build Syncrolite in 1991, and worked there for more than two decades. In a striking coincidence, his death comes one year to the day after Calmes’ passing.

Abba Christmas Party Gets S+H Technical Support

LONDON – S+H Technical supplied 360 meters of their ShowLED animation cloth, 20 meters of 1 and 2 meter Pea-light strings and 2000 x 4-channel DMX controlled Pea-lights – used to decorate three Christmas trees – for ‘The Abba Christmas Party’, a TV special produced by Thames, part of Freemantle Media UK at the London Studios on the South Bank. Chi-Town Rising NYE Rig Includes Chauvet Professional Fixtures

CHICAGO – Chi-Town Rising, the Windy City’s first countdown NYE celebration, featured a performance by Chicago, the band, lit by Christopher Wren, LD at ONE618. Wren used Nexus 4×4 COB LED panels from Chauvet Professional to engage the 20,000 people who attended the live event. Some 595,000 households also tuned in to watch on television.
