Bill Groener Joins Altman Lighting as Chief Operating Officer
Altman Lighting Inc. announces that Bill Groener has joined the company as its new Chief Operating Officer. Groener’s distinguished career spans more than 40 years in the entertainment, themed, and architectural technology sectors. Before joining Altman, Groener was the COO of The Lighting Design Group, President of Vincent Lighting Systems and the VP of National Business Development for 4Wall Entertainment. Furthermore, Groener held key positions with Color Kinetics, Barbizon, Elliptipar, and Strand Lighting. He was also the principal and sole owner of BGr + A, a sales agency covering the Metro New York area that was dedicated to meeting the diverse lighting needs of the theatre, television, film, and architectural markets. Two arts organizations have been selected to receive financial grants from the Stage Managers’ Association Foundation in the most recent grant cycle. The two grantees were selected from seven applications. The SMA Grants will be provided to a Colorado Theatre company and to the SMA.
The Belmont University Pop Showcase, an annual concert featuring Belmont’s best pop acts, returned to the Curb Event Center October 28th with a lighting system provided by Bandit Lites. The concert acts as a competition, with the artists who perform having underwent a rigorous evaluation including demo submissions and live auditions. The day of the event, the four finalist perform to both students and the public, and a panel of industry experts choose the winner.
