Astera Makes Wireless History with Illumination of New Schleissheim Palace near Munich, Germany

MUNICH, GERMANY – Kaiser Showtechnik GmbH, Astera’s exclusive distributor for Germany, illuminated the New Schleissheim Palace in Munich on Aug. 25, 2015.  Astera says the setup, stretching more than 300 meters along the palace façade, was 100 percent wireless and the largest of its kind to ever take place, using more than 600 wireless Astera fixtures.  The project made use of, and fully showed, the capabilities of Astera’s long-distance RF technology found within the AsteraBox™ and AsteraApp™, which has been integral to the industry’s acceptance of Astera as the standard for wireless lighting.

SGM Said to File for Bankruptcy

AARHUS, Denmark – Danish TV Station TV2OJ reports that the lighting company SGM has filed for bankruptcy. In a page on its Danish-language website, the site reports that the company has filed for bankruptcy and is under the curatorship of Christian Jul Madsen.

Rugby World Cup Turns to White Light for Lighting, Sound Assist

LONDON – The 2015 Rugby World Cup recently drew to a close with New Zealand beating Australia at Twickenham Stadium. Throughout the tournament, White Light provided the lighting, sound and production support for various aspects of the competition, helping to make this year’s Rugby World Cup one of the biggest yet. The events included the BT World Wheelchair Rugby Challenge, which was broadcast on ITV (pictured here).

Zedd’s ‘True Colors’ World Tour Includes Custom Color Laser Effects

ORLANDO, FL – For his True Colors world tour, an Aug. 6-Nov. 28 trek in support of his second studio album that goes by the same name, Russian-German musician Zedd turned to Pyrotecnico for a special effects assist. Along with custom pyrotechnic spinners, close proximity pyrotechnics, flames, cryogenics, confetti and streamers, Pyrotecnico used a total of 9 high power KVANT laser systems for the tour. They also utilized Pangolin’s Beyond software and FB3QS hardware to design and control the RGB Spectrum series lasers.
