Wassershow Visuals in Wolfsburg, Germany Enhanced with grandMA2-Controlled Clay Paky Mythos, Sharpys

WOLFSBURG, Germany – Andreas “Mini” Mertens used grandMA2 consoles to control the visuals once again at this year’s Wassershow at the Autostadt. The French themed show featured a combination of fire, water, video, lights, lasers and music. A total of four grandMA2 light consoles, 3 grandMA2 full-size consoles and 1 grandMA2 fader wing were used to control the lights, pyrotechnics and fountain effects. The moving lights included 50 Clay Paky Sharpy Wash 330s and 20 Clay Paky Mythos units.

Video Technicians Using HRS UDC Panels for Corporate Events

SEATTLE – Video technician John Cocci has invested in a second UDC button panel event controller from High Resolution Systems (HRS) to use for live corporate shows.  Cocci added the UDC-400 to his equipment inventory, which already features a UDC-210 he purchased earlier.  He has provided video support for the producers of corporate events for Google, Cisco, Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, Burger King, Discovery Network and others.

In Memoriam: Alan ‘Esco’ Escombe, 1945-2015

BYRON BAY, Australia — In a recent posting on their Facebook page, Rock-It Cargo noted the passing of Alan “Esco” Escombe. Escombe, who joined Rock-It Cargo in 1985, joined the company after touring as a bass player with The Shake Spears in the mid-1960s and Fynn McCool in the late 1960s-early 1970s. A recent photo of crew members during load-out after a Paul McCartney concert in Hamburg, Germany shows Escombe at far right.

Clearwing’s Logistics Division Changes from “Big Event Specialists” to “Big Event Logistics”

MILWAUKEE, WI — Clearwing Productions, which formerly called its transport and logistics division “Big Event Specialists,” has renamed it “Big Event Logistics.” The expanded division provides transport of live event equipment, freight coordination, dedicated trade show deliveries and third-party logistics.
