LOS ANGELES – LD Brian Gale may officially “retired” after 24 years as a full-time designer with the Walt Disney Company, but he is currently engaged as a consultant on six Disney projects, including Tokyo and Shanghai. ETC noted that he’s still making good use of the company’s products at the Los Angeles Theatre on Broadway and Sixth Street in downtown Los Angeles, a historic venue recently used for both the camp musical Carrie – The Killer Musical Experience and an episode of the TV show, Scandal.

NASHVILLE – For a series of events hosted by the Propel Women’s Conference, production designer Nathan Baugh and LD Craig Rutherford worked with Elite Multimedia to create a full lighting, audio and video design to heighten the conference experience. The lighting rig included Martin MAC 700 Profiles, MAC Auras and Chauvet Epix Strips, COLORado Batten 72 Tour wash lights and SlimPAR Pro Tri LED luminaires, all controlled by a grandMA2 full-size lighting console.

NASHVILLE, TN – For Miranda Lambert’s latest “Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars” tour, LD Chris Lisle specified 20 Robe BMFLs Spots, 24 Pointes and 19 LEDWash 600s. Bandit Lites, also based in Nashville, is supplying the gear for the tour, which is visiting smaller venues his month.

AUSTIN, TX – For the 14th annual Austin City Limits Music Festival, which drew 450,000 with 140 artists over two weekends – Oct. 2-4 and 9-11 – Bandit Lites provided the festival lighting system. Featured acts included Drake, The Foo Fighters, The Weeknd, The Strokes and Of Monsters and Men, among others.
