Parklife Festival in Manchester, U.K. Uses Audile-Supplied Clay Paky Fixtures

MANCHESTER, U.K. – The U.K.’s big Parklife festival was staged June 6-7 at Manchester’s 600-acre Heaton Park by The Warehouse Project. Clay Paky fixtures were well-represented at the event. Event production house Audile supplied 12 Mythos, 16 Stormy CC strobes, 96 Sharpys, 12 Alpha Spot HPE 700 and eight Alpha Beam 700 fixtures. The fixtures were rigged on The Temple outdoor stage and several of the Big Top arenas and used to light artists such as Nas and Brit and FKA Twigs.

Empire State Building Projections Bring Attention to Endangered Species

NEW YORK — A large-format, projection-mapping display measuring 375 by 186 feet (HxW) displayed endangered species on the Empire State Building from 9 p.m. to midnight on Aug. 1. Obscura Digital’s Travis Threlkel worked with photographer Louie Psihoyos, who is also executive director of the Oceanic Preservation Society, on the project. The looping reel featured manta rays, birds, reptiles, lions, and even a gorilla that “climbed” to the top of the building. It was powered by 26 Christie Roadster HD20K-J and 12 Christie Roadster S+22K-J projectors provided by Nationwide Video.
