LONDON – For a half-dozen recent performances in the U.K. and Ireland in late October featuring UK-based singer and musician John Newman, lighting and visuals designer Dan Robinson worked with an assist from XL Video. The video production company provided ROE MC-18T 18mm LED screens and a MacBook Pro running Catalyst. The MacBook Pro sat next to Robinson and his lighting console at FOH position during the tour. Read More »BERLIN – Massive yet mobile LED screens supplied by WIcreations served as a key visual focal point for some of the highest-profile celebrations marking 25 years since the Berlin Wall started heading toward the dustbin of history. With help from a custom tracking system, six giant screen columns moved more than 70 meters at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, one of several sites where celebrations took place in the once-divided city. The Brandenburg Gate show visuals, seen before a large crowd, were also picked up via TV coverage Nov. 9, 25 years after the once-inpenetrable wall began to crumble in 1989.

The 75-minute show, Neil Diamond: One Night Only, was hosted by Rob Brydon, who helped bring the U.K. audience on a retrospective journey back to Diamond’s roots in Brooklyn, NY.

BROOKLYN, NY – Absolut launched a new series of EDM events on the Brooklyn waterfront Sept. 12 – not by smashing a bottle on the prow of a ship, but by lighting up the sky with an 85-foot-high Absolut bottle-shaped silhouette. Fixtures from Clay Paky played a key role at the event, staged at the Pier 9 Container Terminal in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood. It was the first of a series of Absolut-sponsored EDM events, which moved on to cities around the world, including Johannesburg, Berlin and Sao Paulo.

This series is recorded at Stage 9 of Elstree Television Studios and broadcast on BBC2.
