LD Thomas Gerdon Includes GLP’s New X4 XL at Nature One Festival

KASTELLAUN, Germany – The Nature One music festival, which took place here July 31-Aug. 2, drew some 72,000 visitors with a roster of 300 international DJs and EDM acts. The event gave LD Thomas Gerdon the chance to use GLP’s new large-format impression X4 XL for the first time. Gerdon already had 64 impression X4 heads incorporated into the stage design but managed to work in 12 additional X4 XL fixtures.

Fineline Provides Lighting and Video Support for Eden Sessions in Cornwall, U.K.

CORNWALL, U.K. – Fineline supplied lighting, LED screen, rigging and crew to the 2014 Eden Sessions, a diverse series of music performances staged at the Eden Project, based here. The sessions ran over a 5+ week period and featured a line up including Skrillex, Dizzee Rascal, Katy B, Ellie Goulding, Elbow, The Pixies and others. For the second year, Fineline worked closely with Andy Cotton of TAO Productions, who production managed the events and coordinated all technical aspects.

Elation LED Panels and Platinum Beams Used for Electrisize Festival

ERKLENZ, Germany – Century-old monastery buildings provided a distinctive backdrop for the Electrisize Open Air Festival. LD Frank Zander used 24 Elation EVLED 256 panels to create four large LED screen columns to anchor the stage and then placed 12 EVLED 1024 LED panels in front of the DJ to present high-res graphics and logos. Further lighting was provided by eight Elation Platinum Beam 5R fixtures for bright aerial effects.

Creative Technology Provides Video for Wimbledon

LONDON – For this year’s Wimbledon Championships, Creative Technology provided nine new Electronic Information Displays on the front façade of Centre Court and various other strategic locations around the facility. The purpose-built housings will remain in place on a permanent basis while the AOTO M8C display technology is installed and removed on an annual basis. All displays are controlled from a central location via a dedicated fibre network. Creative Technology was also involved in the production facility located within the broadcast centre which feeds live content, highlights packages and other entertainment to the large screen and other locations.

WARRINGTON, UK – Colour Sound Experiment supplied more than 550 moving lights plus hundreds of other lighting fixtures along with rigging and trussing for two stages at the 2014 Creamfields EDM festival, staged at Daresbury Estate, near Warrington. TORONTO, Canada – Christie provided 4K screening capability at five venues during the 39th Toronto International Film Festival, held here from Sept. 4-14, 2014. With 4K submissions to the festival having doubled from 2013, Christie, the official projection sponsor for 14 consecutive years, will offer 4K screening capability at Roy Thomson Hall, Princess of Wales Theatre, The Elgin Theatre’s Visa Screening Room (exterior of the building pictured here) and Ryerson Theatre.  All TIFF Bell Lightbox cinemas also feature Christie 4K projection.

Nanjing Youth Olympic Games Visuals Get Barco/High End Support

NANJING, China – Barco and High End System provided projection and video processing for the Summer Youth Olympic Games, held in Nanjing, China. Using 112 Barco HDF-series high-brightness projectors and 56 High End Axon HD Pro media servers, Lighting and video master Sha Xiaolan created one of the world’s largest stage projections, presenting a visual feast to those watching around the world.
