ERKLENZ, Germany – Century-old monastery buildings provided a distinctive backdrop for the Electrisize Open Air Festival. LD Frank Zander used 24 Elation EVLED 256 panels to create four large LED screen columns to anchor the stage and then placed 12 EVLED 1024 LED panels in front of the DJ to present high-res graphics and logos. Further lighting was provided by eight Elation Platinum Beam 5R fixtures for bright aerial effects.

Read More »LONDON – For this year’s Wimbledon Championships, Creative Technology provided nine new Electronic Information Displays on the front façade of Centre Court and various other strategic locations around the facility. The purpose-built housings will remain in place on a permanent basis while the AOTO M8C display technology is installed and removed on an annual basis. All displays are controlled from a central location via a dedicated fibre network. Creative Technology was also involved in the production facility located within the broadcast centre which feeds live content, highlights packages and other entertainment to the large screen and other locations.

UK – Lighting designer Yenz Nyholm ran the Main Stage lighting at Coventry’s Godiva Festival this year from an Avolites Sapphire Touch, with a host of visiting LDs using the console as their acts performed. “The Sapphire Touch works well on a festival due to the many faders and easy to read touch screens,” says Nyholm. “It’s very intuitive, so any LD can use it within a few minutes of turning up. The many faders work well on a festival/busking situation, where you need to be able to grab anything very quickly.”
