Absen Certified Engineer (ACE) Training Program Set for Oct. 15-17, 2014 in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA – From Oct 15 to 17, 2014, Absen American Inc. (Absen LED) is going to hold the sixth Absen Certified Engineer (ACE) training, in cooperation with Branam Enterprises here.  This is the third ACE training in the US. The first ACE training was held in Absen American facility in Orlando, FL in March with 17 participating companies and 38 trainees, and the second ACE training was held in April exclusively for Freeman Audiovisual in Dallas, TX with 28 participants.

Marvel’s Guardians Premiere Gets Visual Boost from Avolites Pixel Mapper

LONDON – The London premiere of the Marvel superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy got a visual assist from Luke Edwards, who used his Avolites Tiger Touch II for effects that could be seen by the throngs drawn to the environs of the Empire Theatre in Leicester Square. The event featured stars including Vin Diesel (pictured here). They were interviewed on a specially created structure that included 20 x LED pixel tracks, amongst other fixtures.

Elation Professional says its Platinum SBX is a new full-featured 3-in-1 luminaire that can be utilized as a beam, spot, or wash fixture. This compact luminaire combines new lamp technology from a Philips MSD Platinum 17RA 350W lamp with a new optical system for more-than-sufficient output. It kicks out 20,000 lumens of power, comparable to 700W fixtures, and is energy efficient. Robe Pointes Used for O.A.R. Tour

To create a clean, modern lighting aesthetic for O.A.R.’s summer tour, LD Jeremy Lechterman chose Robe Pointes as one of the core elements of his lighting design. They were used for everything from spectacular aerial effects, to soft, subtle gobo work and from wash lights to laser simulations highlighting the band during solos.  “They are without doubt the most multi-functional and multi-used light in the rig.” he confirmed, adding “which is really impressive considering their neat size!”
