Christie Projection, Support Featured at SIGGRAPH 2014

VANCOUVER, BC – Christie, which served as a Platinum Sponsor for the 41st International SIGGRAPH convention, held here Aug. 10-14, 2014, was involved with many facets of the event, which focuses on computer graphics and interactive technologies. Christie representatives led discussions on the latest projection mapping techniques, and Christie technologies played a key role with the Computer Animation Festival (CAF) and in illuminating the SIGGRAPH art gallery.

WorldStage Provides 4K Solution for Adobe Connect Now Event at Lincoln Center

NEW YORK — As part of its Creative Cloud 2014 event, a collective update of its entire line up of desktop and mobile apps for creative professionals, Adobe staged Adobe Connect Now, which debuted the 4K video capabilities of its Premiere editing software platform.  WorldStage provided extensive 4K video and engineering support for the gathering at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.

XL Video Supports International Auditors Conference

LONDON — Working with conference and event production agency metroConnections, XL Video supplied a large-scale audio-visual solution for the IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) International Conference at ExCel Centre here. The event, which presented video visuals at a 1,500 delegate main auditorium and included nine breakout rooms in Excel’s Capital Room, took place over three days in early July.

Chicago Gospel Music Awards Gets Assist from RGB Lights

CHICAGO — RGB Lights handled the design, rendering and production for the 2014 Chicago Gospel Music Awards, which were held June 13 at the 10,000-seat House of Hope in Chicago. RGB used an HES Hog 4 Full Boar console to control Clay Paky Sharpys, ColorBlast TRX and ColorBlaze fixtures. Also used: Radiance hazers and the venue’s followspots.

SPAARNWOUDE, The Netherlands — The main stage design at this year’s DanceValley EDM extravaganza, staged in this Amsterdam suburb Aug. 2, featured a design by 250K and Andre Beekmans from The Art of Light. They used nearly 230 Robe moving lights supplied by The Purple Group. The main stage featured Steve Angello, Nicky Romero, DJ Chuckie and others and the event, which featured eight other EDM arenas, drew a crowd totaling close to 40,000.

Miranda Lambert Tour Gets Support from LD Chris Lisle, Bandit Lites

NASHVILLE – For Miranda Lambert’s Platinum tour, in support of the artist’s latest album release, LD Chris Lisle specified a Bandit Lites-supplied rig that includes fixtures from Vari-Lite (VL3500 Washes), Martin (MAC Vipers) and Chauvet (Legend Beams and Nexus 7x7s) to complement the visual centerpiece, a 50-by-30 foot (WxH) picture frame/video screen element. The tour kicked off July 10 and runs through Sept. 20, then resumes with another North American tour leg in early 2015.
