CT Brings The World Cup To Qatar

DOHA, Qatar – Creative Technology provided a variety of LED screens and video projection for Qatar’s Brazil 2014 Fanzone venue for World Cup fans.  The main screen consisted of 8mm SMD lightweight product in the form of a 10.2 x 5.7 16/9 main LED screen with side supporting screens of 20m x 3.2m in a 20mm SMD. In addition, single LED fingers extended all around the 29m of the parameter of the venue in 20mm SMD.

Christie’s Donation to the USC School of Cinematic Arts Launches Immersive Cinematic Experience

LOS ANGELES – Christie continued its technology partnership with the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts by launching a state-of-the-art cinema experience at USC’s Eileen Norris Theatre. The company donated a Solaria Series DLP CP4230 4K projector and a complete Christie Vive Audio system, utilizing over 40 different speakers, sub-woofers, and amps.

Riedel Creates Integrated A/V, Data, and Intercom Solution for Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — Riedel Communications equipment provided an interconnected digital TETRA system and intercom system for the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014. The Riedel installation supported HD video transport for two LED screens in Kyocera Stadium, audio and video for displays across the press village, and flexible data and intercom communications across the event.

Scorpions Lit by GLP Impression X4 XLs for “MTV Unplugged” in Greece

ATHENS, Greece – Rainer Becker, long-serving LD for legendary German rock band the Scorpions, is the first adopter of GLP’s new impression X4 XL moving head for the MTV Unplugged series. Six of the fixtures were positioned along the front edge of the subwoofers, with Becker declaring, “I prefer big effects. They have so much power that if you set the zoom to zero they will hurt people’s eyes so you have to fire them over the heads of the audience.”

Tomorrowland Dance Festival Lighting System Includes ELC Lighting’s “Buddy” Nodes

BOOM, Belgium – The latest product from ELC Lighting, the Buddy, made its debut at the Tomorrowland electronic music festival. Robe LEDWash 300s Color Piccolo Spoleto Festival

CHARLESTON, SC – Production Design Associates lit up the Piccolo Spoleto Festival’s kick-off event in Charleston, South Carolina, with Robe’s ROBIN 300 LEDWash fixtures. Jeff Nickles was impressed by the results.  “Four units positioned about 80 feet away bathed the whole building in vibrant, rich colors. I had no idea they could be so punchy and with the zoom, I was able to adjust the spill off of the audience.”

Clay Paky Sharpys Used at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

MADRID, Spain – Lighting designer Edu Valverde used Clay Paky Sharpys for a show celebrating Spanish jewellery brand Aristocrazy at this year’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Madrid. The designer positioned the Sharpys in straight lines down either side of the catwalk entrance, highlighting the stark geometry of the door and also in further parallel lines down either side of the catwalk.
