XL Video Names Rene De Keyzer U.S. CEO

NEW YORK – Rene De Keyzer, XL Video’s founder, was named CEO for the company’s U.S. operations, based in Atlanta, GA. The announcement was made at a New York event on April 14. Pictured here are De Keyzer (left) and Lucas Covers (right), XL Video’s global CEO. Also attending the New York event was group Chief Technology Officer, Kristof Soreyn. XL Video executives were in New York in advance of the New York Auto Show.

ALPS Names Ethan Gilson Rigging Specialist

RANDOLPH, MA – ALPS, based here, recently named Ethan Gilson as the company’s rigging specialist, a new position. An ETCP Certified Rigger and Recognized trainer, Ethan has been with the company since 1999, where he worked a lighting designer and production rigger for the Events Department. He is currently a voting member of the PLASA Rigging Working Group and has chaired task groups in the development of ANSI Standards for rigging in the entertainment industry.

Wet Wet Wet U.K. Tour Supplied by White Light

LONDON – LD Martin Nicholas is using a lighting rig supplied by White Light for Wet Wet Wet’s U.K. tour. The gear list includes Vari-Lite VL2500 Spots and VL2500 Washes, Coemar Infinity ACL-M beamlights and Martin MAC Viper spotlights, all driven by a grandMA Full Size console programmed by Mark Scrimshaw. Four Robert Juliat Aramis followspots provided the key front light to the performers, while Look Solutions Unique haze machines ensured the lighting, particularly the beams from the ACL-Ms, were clearly visible.
