LONDON – For the second year in a row, entertainment lighting specialist White Light was chosen to supply lighting equipment and production services for the Prince’s Trust Invest in Futures gala dinner, held on Feb. 6 in Central London. The event welcomed about 200 guests including HRH The Prince of Wales, Joanna Lumley OBE, Rob Brydon, Jerry Hall and Tom Hardy to the Savoy Hotel for a dinner reception and performance from Bryan Ferry.

Peter Pan Arena Show Tours with AI Media Servers

LONDON – Avolites Media Ai Media Servers formed the video delivery system for the elaborate £10million UK arena tour of Peter Pan: The Never Ending Story. Patrick Bellens of The Creative Factory used the media servers to bring a series of intricately designed videoscapes to life. The setup also helped the crew adjust and reposition virtual projectors from venue to venue without the need to re-render content.

BRATISLAVA, Slovak Republic – LD Martin Kubanka lit a 22-minute game-opening preshow spectacle for the East vs West KHL All Stars hockey game at the Ondrej Nepela Arena (a.k.a. Slovnaft Arena) here with a lighting rig that included 100 Robe Robin Pointe fixtures. The preshow lighting design complemented video highlighting Slovakian folklore and history while also celebrating the first time that Bratislava has hosted a KHL All Stars event.

“Wicked” Tours U.K. with RC4 Wireless, LumenRadio Support

LONDON – The UK and Ireland touring production of Wicked recently re-tooled its scenic and technical elements to keep the touring troupe’s production values as high as the West End version but its shipping volume low. To do that, the design team opted to eliminate the cables that fed moving scenic elements and replace them with wireless DMX products from RC4 Wireless, including RC4 LumenDim4 4-channel low voltage dimmers, RC4 LumenData receivers (both of which use LumenRadio CRMX rf technology) and SuperNova software from Lumen Radio. The production scenic lighting electrician on Wicked, Mike Ward, credited the setup as “totally stable from day one.”
