FOR-A HVS-390HS Video Production Switcher

CYPRESS, CA – FOR-A Company Limited, a manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, announces new features of its compact, cost-effective HVS-390HS video production switcher. First introduced at last year’s NAB Show as a 1 M/E to 2 M/E switcher, FOR-A has added unique capabilities to the unit. The new functionality, referred to as a MINI M/E, is an extension of the aux bus system that allows operators to deploy any aux bus transition with cuts, mixes, or wipes, and display a keyer complete with DVE functions. The MINI M/E is now offered as a standard feature of the HVS-390HS, and brings the power of a virtual 6 M/E switcher in a 2 M/E unit.

KORTRIJK, Belgium – Barco recently added the HDX-W20 Flex to its HDX family of three-chip DLP projectors. Like Barco’s HDX-W12, HDX-W14 and HDX-W18 projectors, the HDX-W20 Flex offers on-board image processing, a compact design, easy servicing and preview mode features. In addition, the projector offers 20,000 lumens of light output along with a light-on-demand option, which helps rental companies tune their projector’s light output to the specific needs of their customer’s event. SGM Strobes Rave on Mayday

DORTMUND, Germany – Some 23,000 dance fans partied all night long to the sounds of more than 54 internationally renowned DJs at this year’s Mayday extravaganza in Dortmund, including top names such as Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox and Sven Väth. Production company schoko pro installed more than 360 tons of audio visual equipment for the party, designing a 4-fingered truss-claw and a monster mirrorball as the major centerpiece from the ceiling. A special trick was the ability to move and tilt the claw above the audience’s heads, to create changing lighting effects.

Strictly FX Enhances 2013 Latin Billboard Awards

CHICAGO – To help the 2013 Latin Billboards Awards make a strong visual impression, Media Designer and Screens Director Scott Chmielewski called on the laser experts at Strictly FX to create his vision of combining video content with lasers. Strictly FX Partner and Visuals Director Ted Maccabee gave Chmielewski a reluctant nod to the project. Maccabee sayss, “They were looking for a sustained creative image accent generated by lasers, which is more of an artistic visual than what’s typically done with lasers.” Says Chmielewski, “I was really amazed at the way it turned out, and it really opened up some ideas for me.”
