Sharpy Wash 330 Makes US Debut at Ultra Music Fest

MIAMI – Clay Paky lighting – including the US debut of the Sharpy Wash 330 – and  a grandMA2 console performed at the 15th annual Ultra Music Festival (UMF) in Miami’s Bayfront Park. LD Stephen Lieberman spec’d the equipment to help in the Carl Cox Mega Structure, a tent-like environment purpose-built for the high-energy festival to showcase DJs and artists on stage and shelter legions of dancing fans.

Barco Projectors Video Map at Sundance Film Festival

PARK CITY, UT – Sundance Film Festival organizers commissioned Klip Collective to create the 3-D projection mapping display for the venue’s exterior during their recent event. Klip Creative Director Ricardo Rivera envisioned a “man vs. machine” Steampunk-styled vignette entitled and inspired by the Tom Waits song “What’s He Building in There.” To fulfill the technical demands of the concept, Sundance Film Festival used Barco’s HDX-W18 large-venue projectors to present the show.

Crew Member Dies after Fall in San Antonio’s AT&T Center

SAN ANTONIO — Thomas Dean Williams, 44, died April 5 after falling between 70 and 100 feet, according to local news reports. Williams was working on the venue’s concert lighting rig at the time and fell to the stage, where others were working. No other injuries were reported. The accident happened about 2 am Friday after a Romeo Santos concert took place at the venue Thursday night.
