In Memoriam: Edwin Shirley, 64

LONDON — Edwin Shirley, a co-founder of Edwin Shirley Trucking (EST Trucking) and the driving force for a variety of other businesses supporting stage and screen performers with staging, trucking, crew buses, freight forwarding, rehearsal space and film production — died April 16 after a battle with cancer. He was 64.

SALT LAKE CITY – WorldStage supported keynote presentations during the recent Adobe Summit: The Digital Marketing Conference. The Kenwood Group hired WorldStage to provide Adobe with a full complement of audio and video services for the Keynote Room.  There, four “acts,” each 90-120 minutes long, played out with attention-grabbing visuals on mammoth screens supporting a roster of speakers and a number of different product demos.

In Memoriam: Michele Hessman-Ross, 48

LOS ANGELES — Michele Hessman-Ross, wife of Stuart Ross, died April 17 after a long battle with cancer. Stuart Ross, with Red Light Management, is a founding member of the Event Safety Alliance (ESA). He noted that Michele and he were at Michele’s sister’s house in Stow, OH when she died. Michele and Stuart are pictured here at their wedding, on March 29.

Riverview Systems First to Use UDC Timecode

LAKE ORION, MI – Corporate event production company Riverview Systems Group Inc. of Milpitas, CA, was the first company to use UDC Timecode, a new feature in the Protocol Translation portion of High Resolution Systems’ UDC Pro Plus package.  UDC Timecode enables users of the UDC (Universal Device Controller) software to sync with external timecode or turn UDC in to a timecode generator itself. The product made its debut at the RSA Security conference in San Francisco for Riverview’s client, Symantec.

CT Stocks Up on 8mm Outdoor LED Product

LONDON – Creative Technology (CT) will be the first customer to take delivery of the new 8mm outdoor LED product recently launched by Barco’s specialist LED division, LiveDots. The C8 investment follows CT’s introduction of the C5 and specially developed C16 as its mainstream indoor LED platform in early 2012. The new product is expected to arrive at CT in May. It is expected to be put into service soon afterward at key sports events.
