VL770 Spot Does the ‘Heavy Lifting’ at The Crossing

COLUMBIA, MO –  The Crossing in Columbia, MO, recently underwent a sanctuary expansion with a full lighting system upgrade, including the Philips Vari-Lite VL770 Spot luminaire. Acoustic Dimensions recommended the fixture, and authorized Vari-Lite dealer Harvest Productions was brought on-board to oversee the installation and implementation of the new lights.

Elation Helps MTV Ring in New Year

NEW YORK – MTV’s New Year’s Eve celebration overlooking Times Square featured a set design by NYC-based AWB Design and Elation Professional’s EPV762 MH moving head LED video panels, supplied by LMG Nashville. Production designer Anthony Bishop of AWB collaborated with LMG’s Ken Gay to create the environment that worked for the live audience as well as for the cameras.

NASHVILLE – Andy Reese has joined Bandit Lites’ Technical Services Department as a technical assistant. His job is to coordinate with the technical services and sales departments to ensure that everyone gets the parts and supplies they need. He moved to Nashville after working in Tulsa, OK, as both an event and operations coordinator for the BOK Center and as the changeover manager for the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

The article, entitled “The Entrepreneurs Behind Bruce Springsteen,” features a quick history on Pete’s Big TVs and the video equipment and crew they provided for the US, UK and European tour in 2012. The article in the December/January issue is still on some newsstands. The article capped off Pete’s Big TVs busiest year in its 25-year history.

DALLAS – A technical snafu at Prestonwood Baptist Church threatened to keep the annual live stage production, The Gift of Christmas, from happening. As the production was being rigged, a flaw came to light: the video wall was too heavy for the church roof’s load limit. The only viable alternative would be to use a different, lighter weight video product, the EPV762 LED panel from Elation Professional was recommended.
