Elation Platinum Beams Take Stage at Jingle Ball

LOS ANGELES – KIIS-FM’s Jingle Ball concert, now in its 13th year, has become a December tradition. Jingle Ball LD Todd Roberts of Visions Lighting chose Elation Professional Platinum Beam 5R fixtures to accompany the needs of the many LDs who lit their own band’s performances. Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Ne-Yo and more were among the talent for the two-day event at the Nokia Theatre.

Starlite Productions Lights Philadelphia Orchestra

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Orchestra welcomed new Music Director, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, with great fanfare on Oct. 18 at the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall. Starlite Productions provided the lighting, designed by its own Steve Kosiba. The new conductor’s favorite color, blue, was an important theme in the lighting design. Starlite used Philips Color Kinetic Color Blast 12s, Martin MA 101s, Vari-Lite 3500 Spots and a grandMA full size console for the musical event.

NASHVILLE — PixelFLEX, a designer of the LED video curtain, is relocating its business operations from Memphis to Nashville. The move to 700 Cowan St. in Nashville was made to better service the music industry and church market.  PixelFLEX screens have provided support to musical acts including Meat Loaf, Toby Mac and Skillet, Darius Rucker and Rascal Flatts, as well as ministry leaders such as Joel Osteen.

SGM’s Build Up for Qlimax

ARNHEM, The Netherlands – SGM’s products recently put on a display at the dance event, Qlimax, held last month at the GelreDome football stadium in Arnhem. Lighting/production designers Jonas Smith, Tamil van Draanen and Marcel Binnenmarsch chose 24 SGM Six Pack (SP-6) blinders – operating from the VIP decks – along with 28 SGM P-5 washlights and 25 x X-5 white strobes flooding the stage for 30,000 fans.

Republic of ALBANIA – The Miss Albania 2012 pageant has taken place every year since 1998 in Albanian historic sites and castles. The lighting design must then take into account the nationwide TV coverage, the talent and the towering sites and castles as part of the scenic elements. Italian director of photography Franco Ferrari chose Clay Paky fixtures including the Sharpys to handle his challenges of the annual pageant. ASLV supplied the lighting and video equipment.

Onstage Systems Creates Choctaw Casino Christmas Light Show

DURANT, OK – Dallas-based Onstage Systems designed and produced a synchronized Christmas light show for the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, OK. The outdoor system was designed for the resort’s Oasis area, which includes a winding walking path with more than 140 trees, an amphitheater, three outdoor pools and several gardens – now under a holiday glow. The 15-minute show runs nightly every hour and half hour 5:30-10 pm through Jan. 6, 2013.

NEW YORK – Producers of the 2012 Radio City Christmas Spectacular turned to Tait’ for scenic and staging elements including a new, custom-made video wall that showcased video content.  Tait also provided full video/motion integration that allowed the system to track an image, along with the motion of the screens, to give the appearance of moving through a continuous video image.
