Billy Talent Tours with Clay Paky

EUROPE — Canadian rockers Billy Talent celebrated their new album in September with an arena run of Germany and central Europe. Lighting Designer Dara Guiney had worked with the band briefly in 2010 and was invited to come aboard. Guiney specified 28 Alpha Beam 1500, 24 Alpha Profile 1500 and 16 Sharpys, supplied by Go Audio Rental GmbH.

80th Annual Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Rekindles NYC Spirits

NEW YORK — An 80-foot-tall spruce that survived the gale force winds of Sandy while still firmly rooted in Mount Olive, NJ, emerged resplendent from worker scaffolding one month later, adorned by more than 30,000 lights and crowned by a Swarovski crystal star. NYC Mayor Bloomberg threw the ceremonial switch at 9pm Nov. 28, and artists performing for the tree-lighting celebration included Rod Stewart, CeeLo Green, Scotty McCreery, Il Volo, Victoria Justice, Brooke White, Mariah Carey, Trace Adkins and Tony Bennett, with appearances by Billy Crystal and Bette Midler.

Hunter Hayes Turns to Chaos Visual for Stage Enhancement

LOS ANGELES – Hunter Hayes, the CMA 2012 “New Artist of the Year,” turned to Chaos Visual Productions to enhance his stage while opening for Carrie Underwood on the “Blown Away” tour. Nat Alves designed the small custom lighting system. Brian Carico acts as lighting director and looks after the Chaos gear.

The 3D 360-degree panoramic journey uses projectiondesign F10 AS3D to reproduce imagery of paintings and sculptures in the ancient rock cave’s 722 ft north wall known as Bhaisajyaguru’s Eastern Paradise in China.
