JONESBORO, AR — The Convocation Center, or “Convo,” at Arkansas State University (ASU) here has been equipped with Motion Laboratories’ Soft*Limit, Load*Cell and WardeN systems as a safeguard against the risk of attempting to manually control more than two dozen 2-ton chain hoists. Atlanta Rigging Systems (ARS) installed the gear.

NEW YORK – Control This! – a daylong event expo and seminar series that exhibits lighting control and energy management systems – is hosting the first Lighting PlugFest. Clay Paky Sharpys Light Lady Antebellum Tour

SYDNEY – Two dozen Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures helped light up Lady Antebellum’s “We Own the Night” world tour, which recently concluded with three dates in Australia. Creative director and designer Baz Halpin along with Chris Nyfield of Silent House delivered the band’s concept of a fan-centric experience by creating a stage which placed a portion of the audience inside the center of the stage area. This allowed Lady Antebellum to “immerse themselves in the audience and vice versa – the audience essentially became the backdrop of the show.”

Foster the People Tours with Chauvet

NEW YORK — Foster the People LD Zach Matusow used nearly 40 Chauvet Professional fixtures to accompany the band on its recent tour. Lighting the set  – designed by Trevor Stirlin Burk – was a lighting challenge, said Matusow. The curved, 60-ft backdrop included inflatable characters combined with paper airplanes, marching bands, bubbles, confetti and an LED wall built inside a scenic sun.

Clay Paky Makes Heavy Contribution to Light Relief

LONDON – Clay Paky’s President/CEO Pasquale Quadri presented the lighting industry charity Light Relief with a £ 5,000 ($7,991) donation. The charity supports those with financial aid in the industry who experience hard times. Pio Nahum, chief commercial officer for Clay Paky, says, “Without the lighting designers who use our equipment so imaginatively and who willingly feedback to our R&D, Clay Paky could not be so successful. It’s important to us that we acknowledge our appreciation and offer our support to those individuals who need it. Light Relief is the perfect way for us to do this.”
