Global Gathering for HSL

STRATFORD, UK – HSL supplied lighting equipment, LED screens, trussing and rigging for the 2012 Global Gathering event, staged at Long Marston Airfield near Stratford. The event attracted up to 50,000 dance music fans over two days. Even the sun participated in the fun over the two days – one of the few UK festivals this summer not to be plagued by erratic weather.

GoVision Enhances Entertainment at ASAE Meeting

DALLAS – Argyle, TX-based GoVision provided video screens to enhance the entertainment during the 2012 ASAE Annual Meeting & Expo in Dallas. An Opening Night Celebration at Cowboys Stadium featured extra screens on each side of the stage for Big & Rich’s show, while another night’s event featured screens enhancing country artist Jack Ingram’s performance.

Martin M1 for Lenny Kravitz at TW Classic Fest

WERCHTER, Belgium – Lighting director and lighting op Jesse Blevins directed this summer’s Lenny Kravitz light show at the TW Classic Festival in Belgium from a Martin M1 lighting console with high res custom video content played back on a Martin Maxedia Broadcast. Live video of Kravitz was integrated in the light show and broadcast on a triangle-shaped video screen. Capture of the live video stream was done via the Martin MCC card for the Maxedia Broadcast, which meant that frame delay was minimal and latency was low between the performers on stage and the live video on screen.

White Light Supplies ‘Chariots of Fire’

LONDON – Timed for London’s Olympic summer is the new stage adaptation of the classic British film “Chariots of Fire,” telling the story of a much earlier Olympic Games. To supply the lighting for the show, LD Rick Fisher turned to his regular collaborator White Light. The company also supplied external lighting to the Gielgud Theatre for a performance by Vangelis of his Chariots of Fire theme as the Olympic Torch passed the theatre.
