SGM LED Packs Blast into Life in Germany

COLOGNE, Germany – SGM’s German distributor dB Technologies Deutschland has sold the first 300 SGM P-5 LED washlights to some of the country’s leading rental companies. The dB Technologies MD Michael Herweg admits the reaction has caught him by surprise. “We decided to make up starter packs after we had measured the response,” he said. “We will be approaching all our key accounts this month and demonstrating the new products in our 700 sq. meter showroom in Köln. The reaction has completely exceeded expectations and these are exciting times for SGM.”

Nemetschek Vectorworks and IES Form Strategic Partnership

COLUMBIA, MD – Nemetschek Vectorworks, Inc, and Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) have formed a partnership to allow for the collaboration of Vectorworks Architect and IES Virtual Environment software (IESVE). The partnership promises the first significant energy modeling and analysis solution for a major architectural BIM program using the IFC file format, according to Sean Flaherty, CEO of Nemetschek Vectorworks.

2012 Teen Choice Awards Lit by Robe Moving Lights

LOS ANGELES – LD Tom Kenny’s big lighting rig for the 2012 Teen Choice Awards included more than 500 moving lights. The event, held at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal Studios, was hosted by Demi Lovato and Kevin McHale and featured performances by Flo Rida, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepson and others. Among the moving lights: Robe ROBIN 1200 and 600 LEDWashes, MMX Spots and LEDBeam 100s.

LD Lee Rose Turns to MAC Aura for MDA Telethon

LOS ANGELES – A traditional TV event in the US – the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Labor Day Telethon – was renamed MDA Show of Strength and featured a new format for its Sept. 2 broadcast. LD Lee Rose of Design Partners turned to the Martin MAC Aura as a key element of the lighting design. The fixtures were sub-rented from 4Wall Entertainment.

SIAULIAI, Lithuania – W-DMX recently took control at the 5th TAFISA World Sport for All Games held in Siauliai, Lithuania. SSGPRO supplied the lighting rig, choosing W-DMX for various reasons. LD Travis Shirley Uses Vipers, Other Martin Gear for Linkin Park Tour

SAN DIEGO – Lighting Designer Travis Shirley used an all Martin rig that included the MAC Viper Profile for Linkin Park’s North American co-headlining tour with Incubus this summer. The tour kicked off Aug. 11, and at the time of rehearsals weeks earlier, the first Vipers were just rolling off the production line in Denmark. Christie Lites supplied the new Viper automated spot along with MAC Auras, MAC 101s, MAC 700 Profiles and MAC III Performances.

Griven Names AC-ET As Exclusive UK Distributor

LONDON – A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET) Ltd. were announced at PLASA 2012 as the exclusive UK distributor for Italian manufacturer Griven’s LED lighting. AC-ET’s UK Sales Director Jonathan Walters and ACSP’s Operations Manager William Yeo met with Griven’s Director of Sales & Marketing Danilo Bettinazzi at the London show to seal the deal.
