Diversity for HSL

BLACKBURN, UK – HSL supplied lighting, LED screen, rigging and a Kinesys automation system to Production North for street dance troupe Diversity’s first major arena tour. Designer Peter Barnes worked in conjunction with Diversity’s creative director and leader, Ashley Banjo. The show starts out with a futuristic Tron-styled and shaped stage, which sets the storyline as the troupe were sucked into a video game and ‘digitized,’ a serious situation from which they had to escape.

LD Normandale Chooses Philips Vari-Lite for Coldplay

LONDON – Coldplay LD Paul Normandale is using the Philips Vari-Lite VL3500 Wash FX units to create a lighting experience to complement the band’s ultraviolet spectacular in Europe. At each gig, fans are being asked to wear a radio-controlled lighting device wristband that omit either blue, white, pink or yellow on cue to music, turning the entire stadium into a sea of dancing orbs.

Robe Rocks Out at Wacken Bullhead Circus Stage

WACKEN, Germany – Robe moving lights provided the heavy metal lighting dynamics for the two stages in the Bullhead Circus tented arena at the 2012 Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany. The Robe fixtures of 40 MMX Spots, 46 ROBIN 600 Beams and 30 LEDWash 600s were supplied by Crystal Sound. The two stages were side by side, allowing the bands to ‘flip flop’ performances to keep the music going.

ALPHARETTA, GA — More than 250 CHAUVET Professional LED fixtures are part of the stage design for the worship services at North Point Community Church in the Atlanta area. Arrays of 112 ÉPIX Strip linear pixel mapping fixtures anchor the stage’s backdrop. Placed in vertical lines from stage floor to the trim height of 16 feet, they resemble raindrops falling from above animated by motion graphics generated by ArKaos MediaMaster Pro.

LMG Touring Maps Smashing Pumpkins’ Tour

ORLANDO – LMG Touring is on the road with the Smashing Pumpkins providing video projection mapping for “Oceania,” their first major tour in more than 10 years. Rising above the stage, a 28-ft sphere was projection mapped with a visual display of video, graphics and imagery created by Sean Evans (Roger Waters’ The Wall), set to the music of the Smashing Pumpkins’ new album. LMG worked with production manager Chris Gratton on the design concept and touring logistics.

Morpheus Helps Kick Off ‘Wrecking Ball’ Tour in North America

BOSTON – Morpheus Lights helped Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band kick off its “Wrecking Ball” North American Stadium Tour at Boston’s Fenway Park on Aug. 14. Morpheus Lights is the lighting contractor, supplying the lighting system designed by Jeff Ravitz of Intensity Advisors. Lighting Director Todd Ricci and Crew Chief Brad Brown lead Morpheus’ nine-man technical crew. The tour plays stadiums through the end of September, and then heads back indoors for arena performances to the year’s end.
